Pastor Kenny Smith, born April 7th, 1979, has served Greenwood Wesleyan Church since July of 2007. He was born in Silver Spring, Maryland.
He came to Christ at College Park Wesleyan Church, which is near the University of Maryland, when his best friend invited him to participate in the church's band. In 2003, he sensed a call to vocational ministry.
He married his wife, Cheryl, on April 3, 2004. Shortly thereafter, he left Maryland to move to South Carolina in order to prepare for ministry at Southern Wesleyan University. In December of 2006, he graduated from the university.
Pastor Kenny's daughter, Natalie, was born on January 2nd, 2007. On February 11, 2009, his son, Aidan, was born, completing the family.
Apart from family and ministry responsibilities, Pastor Kenny enjoys sports, video games, and reading up on the latest tech gadgets. Second to Christ, his family is his greatest responsibility and greatest joy.
His ministerial philosophy is simple - the Church must be trained to live as Christ lived, both in holiness and in mission. The believer must be motivated to take on the character of Jesus while daring to serve as Christ served.
